time? what time?

FaceBook, MySpace, MySpace Blog, Website, Writerwriterwrtier (blog), WRITE (blog), Twitter, Email, phone, and life.
And writing. I have five projects on deck.

If I don't answer your emails quickly, or sadly, maybe ever, it is not because I don't want to. It's because I can't find time. It means everything to me that readers write me. I just can't keep up, unless I give up writing. And that would make no sense at all. So please don't write me angry emails. The books that say I will answer every email were printed almost ten years ago, when it was true. I still do my best to answer them, and every single one makes me smile and write better. I just can't keep up.

Good for you! If we were CEO's we could hire somebody to write our novels for us, I suppose, but can you imagine a novel written by Paulson or whomever's in charge of Lehman Brothers? If there still is a Lehman Brothers. . .

Crazy world these days.

Just stopping by to say hello! I bought your book, Skin Hunger, a few months ago to put in my TBR (to be read) pile. I can't seem to stop adding to it. I have quite the book addiction. I've been in the middle of several other series' and so havent gotten around to reading it. I often pass books around among my mom and best friend. This one made it to my mom first. She just finished and LOVED it! She was so ready to go buy Sacred Scars that I think it almost literally broke her heart that it isnt out yet! I can't wait to read it and will be frequenting your blog now. :)
PS: as an aspiring writer in the midst of working on my first YA novel, I must say I am in awe of you being able to swing 5 projects at once! WOW!

I am glad that your mother liked Skin Hunger and I hope you do! It's been an amazing experience to write.

Best of luck with your writing. Are you aware of SCBWI.org? If not, they would be a great resource for you.

The five projects are in different stages of development and, at intervals, the one in the spotlight crowds out all the rest. Then, when it is off the desk, I don't have down time, or "what's next?" time. It works for me. And they are all really interesting, so I am happy!!!

Take Care, may the writing fly.

you shouldn't have to apologize for not having the time to reply due to the fact that you're writing those awesome books! Every true fan of your work should understand that and really, no one always answers EVERY mail they get so they should just keep quite...

Excellent website! Thank you so much. I've been using writersmarket.com for some things.

Thank Kat,

I sort of feel like a jerk for complaining, because I love getting messages from readers. I just got a couple really upset emails recently from readers who hadn't gotten an answer yet. The truth is,I am hundreds behind.I could spend most of every day answering emails and still not keep up. But I do love to get the emails and letters. They mean a lot to me. More than I can explain. I just can't answer all of them. It's an unsolvable thing...

SCBWI boosts a lot of writers along the way. The teach craft and marketing and all the rest.
I am speaking at one of their events Friday-Sun..here's the schedule, so you can see how helpful these things can be...

Christy,
The writers were kids, and it's because the first editions of Tye Unicorn Secret books all give my email and say that I like getting letters and will answer every one. For a long time I did. But it was a decade ago.

I love getting letters and emails...and I save them all. And I answer as many as I can. They really do make me able to write on the hard days....

I still can't believe I posted the whine, but I am grateful for all the kind words.

I love my job. I have no real complaints...about anything!!!

Wow! So much neat info!! Thanks again! I really wish I could make it this weekend. Atlanta isnt even that far away. Poo! The website is extremely helpful to me as I am currently working on my main project (my YA novel) but I also have several others churning. I've completed a rough draft for children's book that I hope to make a series, and my uncle (a graduate of SCAD) is working on the illustrations. Yay! I am excited for those to be completed. It is somewhere along the lines of Gris Grimly and Edward Gorey...
I REALLY appreciate you taking the time to comment back on your blog but by no means EXPECT it of you! Too bad not everyone is so understanding. I think since it is YOUR blog, you should be allowed to whine once in a while w/no apologies! :)
