Obama

President Obama has asked us all to do our best.
Martin Luther King said that if your job was washing floors, to make sure that you were the best floorwasher.
My mother said self respect is earned, not given. That has always made sense to me.
Whatever you do, do it well. Whatever you use, use less of it. Don't waste half of it--or any of it. The world can't afford its citizens to be foolish or asleep any longer. There are too many of us, too many problems and too much work at hand. I am inspired and encouraged and ready to work.

It's a philodendron in my back yard. The blooms remind me of sea creatures...

I am not sure why it seemed the right image for the post, but it did...???

One thing no one can argue is that our new president is not a fantastic speaker. He is great with words; listening to his is so uplifting, and like you said, it does inspire you to be a better person. I hope I can live up to that, too.

We all need to try. There is SO much work to do to make this country what it could be.

Thanks for writing...

I think a lot of people are. And now we need to act on it!! He is smart and good, and earnest. But he can't work magic.

So much is broken. It will take everyone working together to fix it.
