Cyn Smith let me guest blog about the experimental aspect of the Russet novel today.

Here is the faculty lineup for SCBWI 09 in LA. I can't believe I am on a list with these people.
.
I have written over 80 books for K-YA. Many are titles in my middle grade series: American Diaries, Survival, and Hoofbeats. The Unicorn's Secret and The Faeries' Promise series are for young readers. ((excerpts are up on http://www.kathleenduey.com)) Dark, atypical fantasy for teens and adults is my new love. My first YA novel,Skin Hunger, was a 2007 National Book Award finalist. Sacred Scars was released in 2009. The third book in the trilogy is finished and in the production process now.

Hello!
I just read your interview on Cyn's blog, and just wanted to say how inspiring I find your twitter book.
I'd not thought about it before, but fear IS an excellent thing to have when writing.
Thanks for sharing it with us!
You are kind to write! I spent years as a craft hound--and am glad I did. But free-fall, art-driven YA is what I want to do now. Doing it in real time and in public with Russet was the scariest thing I could think of. We'll see what happens...
great interview - love the twitter book. cant wait for LA - :)
Shelli:
